Do you need advice or legal representation in court?
Each member of the Leslie Franks team is equipped with the experience and legal knowledge to provide you with the best advice and representation.
Magistrates Court Representation
Every criminal prosecution commences in the Magistrates’ Court and 95% of all cases are dealt with to a conclusion there. A critical part of all criminal cases, the initial application for bail is also still heard in the Magistrates’ Court except in Murder cases.
In many cases public funding is available for you to be assisted with these matters. This means that we can assist you without there being any financial burden on you.
As a Defendant in criminal proceedings you will initially be seeking advice on how you should plead to the charges you face. Our team of solicitors represent people daily in Magistrates’ Courts across London and the South East of England and are equipped with the experience and legal knowledge to provide you with the best advice available.
You are welcome to contact us for initial advice and attend for a consultation where we can discuss your case and what preparatory steps are necessary before your first appearance at court.
We will allocate to you an experienced Solicitor, dedicated to conducting your case. They will assist in the initial stages of preparation, advice you on the strengths and weaknesses of the Prosecution case and explore and investigate with you any potential defences to the allegations.
During the preperation of your case for trial, your Solicitor will take statements from your witnesses, liaise with the Court and Prosecution and represent you at the trial itself.
Your Solicitor will be supported by a team of staff working under their supervision to ensure the resources are available to prepare your defence thoroughly. All our support staff are qualified Police Station Representatives and therefore have a thorough understanding of criminal law.
If your case requires the instruction of a forensic expert, we maintain a register of tried and tested expert witnesses in a wide range of different areas who we can instruct to prepare an authoritative and persuasive report to be given in evidence at your trial.
